About National Black Heroes Day
All too often, the contributions of everyday people are overlooked and overshadowed by those who have celebrity status or riches. National Black Heroes Day was created to remind all of us that Black heroes are all around us and they should be celebrated for their sacrifice, hard work and dedication. It is equally important that we normalize “giving people their flowers” while they are alive and well, as it is to celebrate those that have passed away.
Therefore, February 28 (the last day of Black History Month) has been proclaimed: National Black Heroes Day
Celebrating National Black Heroes Day is easy. Simply share the name of a Black person that contributed to your life (or that of others) in a significant way. Also tell what they did/ do.
Besides the national celebration, we host an official awards ceremomy in Atlanta, Ga.
